Corey Ellis and Clyde Brown claimed 3rd place with a whop- ping 19.62 pounds of bass today, good enough to pocket $550 and two framed awards. Corey is fresh off a win with his wife, ShaKai in our first recent His ‘n Hers tournament, which was won by Clyde and his wife Amanda last year! Always dangerous, John Hart and Ed Pribish finished a close 2nd today with five beautiful bass that weighed 20.10 pounds. They had a great TOC at Oneida last October and have continued that momentum into 2009. They received $815 including 2nd place op- tion pot money and framed certificates for their great finish today. Already boasting a win in the first TGIF tournament this year, Mike Piccolo and Jay Davoli hung on for a narrow victory with a limit of bass that weighed 20.54 pounds. They also had the lunker today at 4.91 pounds and won 1st place option pot money for a HUGE payday of $2035! Mike and Jay weighed in early and agonizingly watched as several teams came close with both big bass and overall weight. They breathed a collective sigh of relief as the scales were of- ficially closed.

Piccolo and Davoli Win Close Saturday Chesapeake Pro Teams Finally, after what seemed to be a late blooming bass bite this year lots of big weights showed up at the scales on May 30. Although no five pounders were weighed in, lots of fish in the four-pound class were carried in. The weather was nice as 33 teams were launched from Anchor Marine at safe light by Captain Karl in his Legend boat. All teams checked in on time and weigh-in began. Bill Gallagher and Dave Seamans, a team having a great year in Angler’s Choice overall finished in 6th place with 16.79 pounds and won $280. John Schoener and John Detwiler were the 5th place finishers with 17.55 pounds, good for $360. ‘Team John’ had been a very consistent team over the years whether they are on the Chesa- peake Bay or Oneida Lake. Current AOY leaders Mike Gilpin and Don Muir didn’t hurt their standings a bit as they weighed in 18.07 pounds of large- mouth for a 4th place finish today. Fishing for Team J.O. Spice, Mike and Don reported catching about 10 keepers today.

Rich Bruce and Bill McDonaugh Victorious on TGIF Upper Bay This TGIF Friday tournament boasted a nice turnout as 24 teams participated in this tournament. Only four fish limits were weighed in as it was still rather tough on the Bay. Duane Diantonio and Bob Fisher had a great day as they fin- ished in 4 th place and also had the tournament lunker, a 5.28 pound largemouth which anchored their 14.73 pound weight. All of this with only four bass. One more keeper could have made the difference, but Duane and Bob still had a nice payday collecting $520. Dan Wright and Bob Wright finished in 3rd place today with a nice limit of bass that weighed 15.05 pounds. This was good for $450 and framed certificates of their accomplishment. Bill Gallagher and Dave Seamans had another fantastic tour- nament as they finished in 2 nd place by mere fractions with 16.58 pounds. Their winnings, including 2nd place option pot money to- taled $725. Winners by the weight of just a fish scale or 2 were Rich Bruce and Bill McDonaugh. Their weight of 16.64 narrowly eclipsed that
