uTah anglerS pair up To Take kidS FiShing

Three years ago Southern Utah angler Steve Miller decided he wanted to share his love of fishing will local disabled children. Steve looked at other local concepts and came up with a cutting edge theme of pairing the children with local club anglers for a day on the water. The event has grown each year and now draws over 200 par- ticipants and volunteers from Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Held at Sand Hollow Reservoir just outside Saint George Utah, a lake known for its quality fishing and extraordinary numbers of bass. It’s really the perfect setting for the children to catch fish with their brand new rod and reel combinations. All the participants get prizes

and a lunch provided by the Utah National Guard and Utah State Parks. Even the number 88 car driven by Dale Junior is on hand for the event. Steve fishes in the Lake Powell Anglers Choice Region and di- rector Allen Bratton was on hand for the event. “This is just amazing. My partner for the day had a great time and was pretty sure he was going home with us,” said Bratton. The event is held annually and is made possible by a list of lo- cal sponsors including: Itchy Baits, National Guard, Utah State Parks, Sportsman Warehouse. BW
